Britney Spears will control her financial and personal decisions for the first time since 2008 after a judge terminated her conservatorship
Singer Britney Spears has been freed from her conservatorship following a ruling Friday from Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny.
The court decision follows months of legal maneuvers and calls from Spears' legion of fans to #FreeBritney.After 13 years, Spears' conservatorship is over. Penny ended the court-ordered arrangement during a hearing on Friday. He had held the role since 2008, overseeing his daughter’s estate and controlling much of her personal and professional life.Spears shared a video of her fans celebrating in the streets."Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy !!! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen ????" Spears wrote on Instagram.
