What round will we have a speaker?
Let’s go! Rep. Elise Stefanik says a quorum is not present. The House needs a majority of the members-elect present. That will likely happen and the vote will start soon. It’s time for the House to vote for Speaker…again…for the fourth day.
The voting has been pretty consistent, with McCarthy receiving between 200 and 202 votes, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries at 212 votes, and others getting around 20. What will happen today? I’m not optimistic. Are you? At least they’re not spending money or passing bad bills.
