The FIBA 2019 Basketball World Cup draw goes down in wee hours of Saturday morning . And Canadian basketball fans have particular reason to watch given that the senior men’s national team will be competing in the tournament for the first time in nine years.

Canada last qualified for the World Cup in 2010 in Turkey, finishing with an 0-5 record and finishing 22nd out of the 24 teams competing. But expecting to field a roster laced with both battle-tested national team veterans and bona fide NBA talent, hopes for the program are much higher this time around.

On Saturday morning we’ll find out what group Canada will be in and which team’s they will be facing once the tourney tips off in China on Aug. 31.
