, Liam Gallagher has released the LP’s second single, “The River.”
Based in a steady drum beat and scratchy guitar, the track finds Gallagher resisting authority and calling for change. He sings, “You gotta scream and shout / If you’re gonna to work this out / Change comes when the water falls / I’ve been waiting so long for you down by the river.” Gallagher co-wrote the song alongside Grammy-winning producer, co-writer and Miike Snow vocalist Andrew Wyatt.
Accompanying the track, Gallagher released a music video that follows the day of a man in Manchester, England, where Gallagher was raised. The man walks through the streets of Manchester, passing the pub and the park. All the while, he passes buildings spray-painted with the album art for. On par with the message of the track, the man in the video eventually throws his phone in an act of rebellion.
