UPDATE: Limited BART service has been restored following equipment problem in the Transbay Tube, officials say.
BART has limited service in the Transbay Tube as two trains stopped moving near Oakland, the public transportation service announced on Sunday morning.they have restored limited service through the Transbay Tube in both directions. Green line service between Berryessa and Daly City as well as Red line service between Richmond and Millbare is canceled until further notice. Officials said an equipment problem caused the delays.
At 11:14 a.m., BART went to Twitter to announce that there were two disabled trains in between Embarcadero and Lake Merritt, one near West Oakland, and the other near the 12th Street Station. As a result, trains on either side of the underground tube turned around. AC Transit is offering free transbay bus service for affected riders via the Transbay Transit Center, near Embarcadero and Montgomery stations.
