Don\u0027t expect Justin Trudeau to follow in the footsteps of Jacinda Ardern even if the polling says he should.

It’s not going to happen, Trudeau is buckled in and ready for a fight with Pierre Poilievre.

Over the past few months though, Trudeau has appeared energized at the thought of taking on Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre. You saw the spark in Trudeau in spades when he gave a speech to the Liberal Christmas Party for MPs and donors last December. Given the record of the Trudeau government, I’d agree with Poilievre, but the point here was the energy and spirit that Trudeau had while delivering the speech. We saw it again this week when the PM was touring an auto plant in Windsor.

So, the idea that he might follow Jacinda Ardern’s lead and opt to leave or follow his father’s footsteps by taking a walk in the snow is simply not on. Unlike Ardern, Trudeau has plenty in the tank, he got a refill with Poilievre’s leadership win.Article content
