The Liberals also, together with the NDP, voted down a request to have senior cabinet ministers, and Trudeau’s chief of staff, Katie Telford, appear before the committee. On Wednesday, the Conservatives will bring forward a similar motion; whether the Liberals fight this motion or agree to it will tell us whether they truly want openness and transparency on this issue.Article content
It’s nice that Trudeau says these words, but it would be better if he and his Liberal party lived up to them. Of course, now would also be the time for Liberal MPs to show a little independence from Trudeau’s PMO. The prime minister is currently failing in trying to deal with the stories of China’s election interference.
