The new normal of airline travel will likely include a mask for every passenger
Earlier Monday afternoon, American announced that it will provide face masks, as well as sanitizing wipes or gels, to passengers. Face mask distribution will begin in early May and will expand to all flights as quickly as supplies and operational conditions allow. It stopped short of saying it will require passengers to wear masks.
Following the JetBlue announcement, Nelson tweeted,"Good job, JetBlue for being the first U.S. airline to take this responsible step, which CDC advises will help slow the spread of the virus. “ All airlines should follow JetBlue’s lead, including its efforts to fully communicate the change before it becomes effective next week so that flight attendants are not put in the position of being enforcers without information and backing from the airline,” she said.
