Together with Izzy, Mo and Darby, Buzz attempts to get to Zurg's ship in orbit to destroy it and therefore kill all the robots. Their attempts fail, but luckily for them, Zurg seems keen to meet Buzz and transports him to his ship. Thanks to Rex's tail, Zurg is sent plummeting down the lift shaft, devastating Utility Belt Buzz. Fortunately, he's not really dead and we later saw the alternate Buzz and Zurg having good old father-son bonding time over a game of catch.isn't about to give an explanation of why Zurg the toy believes that he's Buzz's father. Instead, the movie delivers a twist that this older Buzz that is in Zurg's robotic suit is just that: an older Buzz.

This Buzz then decided to travel centuries ahead, before realising that if he could use hyperspeed to travel forward in time, he could also travel backwards to fix his original error that saw them stranded on the planet.
