Supermarkets have been increasing the cost of boxes of tea bags recently.
If there is one shopping essential that will make its way into any Brits shopping basket, it is a box of tea bags.
Tesco has recently "matched" its price with Aldi by bumping up the cost of its 80 Stockwell Bags to 94p recently. Meanwhile, Lidl has also increased the price of its Knightsbridge 240 Red Label Tea Bags to £2.79. Even though Lidl has increased its tea bag prices, the supermarket still remains the cheapest option for a basket of essentials this week. The Manchester Evening News regularly compares the cost of essentials at major supermarket chains.
Aldi remains second cheapest, at £12.14, followed by Tesco at £12.32, and Asda and Sainsbury's, both £12.33.
