“Unfortunately, based on that recommendation, your status as a Candidate for the Liberal Party of Canada has been revoked,” the letter from Andrew Bevan, designate of the Liberal national campaign co-chairs says.On Facebook, Screech shared that the party had contacted him Tuesday about a concern. “The party had contacted me yesterday as they had an email from someone who claimed I had stalked them and harassed them. Anyone who knows me knows that these allegations are complete nonsense and were made in a malicious manner,” Screech wrote.“And with no opportunity to plead my case to a tribunal of some kind or even the courtesy of a phone call this letter was sent early this morning.

The Liberal party is currently undergoing a process to replace the leader of the party, after Justin Trudeau announced he will step down once a replacement is found.There are six candidates seeking leadership of the party: Liberal MPs Karina Gould, Chrystia Freeland and Jaime Battiste, former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney, and former MPs Frank Baylis, and Ruby Dhalla.
