Liberal leadership candidates are meeting again Tuesday night to debate the path forward for the country in the final faceoff of a contest that ends with one of them becoming prime minister.
The dominant theme, though, was how each candidate would address the challenges created by U.S. President Donald Trump, a topic that will again be on the table Tuesday night in a two-hour English-language event aimed at a far broader audience. Both Mr. Carney and Ms. Freeland pledge to hit back with retaliatory tariffs should Mr. Trump pursue his plan to impose a sweeping 25-per-cent levy on Canadian goods, a move that could come in just a week.
