Re: “Impeached — members vote ‘yes’ in force,” Sunday news story. “Good job” is not something I ever imagined saying about the Texas Legislature, but we live...

Some of our attorney general’s comments and actions are right from the former president’s playbook. Giving a speech and chastising all who would vote to impeach. Saying he is innocent of all wrongdoings. Then calling some of our legislators and threatening them if they vote to impeach.

I know Mark Cuban has dollar signs in his eyes. But Dallas, be careful and research completely what you want, or you may end up like Atlantic City some day.Re: “Your backyard, your call. Right? If ADU bill is passed, homeowners will lose their rights with no notice,” by David Schwarte, May 8 Opinion.

One could argue it began when President Dwight Eisenhower added “under God” to our Pledge of Allegiance. Now I would not vote for any politician who will not support getting weapons of war out of the hands of the public nor any politician who insists that an election was stolen. That pretty much rules out most present-day Republican candidates.

Note that after exhausting investigations costing millions of taxpayer dollars, no criminal charges were brought.
