The little ramp that is the north end of River Street, where it accesses lower Bayview, used to be two lanes up and two lanes down for cars. At the top, cars could go left onto Gerrard, go south on River to access Dundas and Queen, or filter right onto Gerrard, which kept the right lane moving even when the light was red.
I have spent considerable time sitting in the gridlock and have never seen a cyclist going up or down any of these four bike lanes. Sometimes I see a homeless guy walking down them though.
