Re “Time for Canada to end monopolies in telecom sector” : This letter is hard for me to write as it would be for anyone who worked in computer production support and those who still do. Why? We are rolling on the floor laughing out loud. At least he did not say, ‘Pull the plug, plug it back in and reboot .’ Here I am retired after 30 years in computer and I did not know my production problems would have been solved by simply splitting up the company as Fatah suggests.

’ By this I mean if the upgrade fails and the previous version was not flawed, that software can be restored. Then the upgrade is once again tested out. What happened at Rogers has happened at every company who uses computers and has a computer department. Rogers should be applauded for their honesty and not punished. The government getting involved is just as absurd as Fatah’s suggestion. Ending monopolies does not stop production failures.
