So now that Tory resigned, taxpayers are now on the hook for likely millions of dollars for a byelection. Since the city is scrambling for money, why don’t they pass legislation that should any Toronto mayor resign unexpectedly before their term expires, then the next mayor should automatically be the candidate with the second-most votes in the past election. This way we save millions on a byelection.

Although seriously lacking a solid operational background or having outstanding leadership ability, Trudeau wanted a female above all else. Lucki’s too-close relationship with the Trudeau government, which seems to have been dictating both the RCMP’s direction and policies, became a major problem. Lucki took over the RCMP when the environment within was very toxic for females and left it no better off. Her legacy will be one of missed opportunities to make a significant difference.
