I missed running that marathon and instead spent the next several months in a boot and then rehabbing the injury. This is not an isolated incident. For their own safety, cyclists should be subject to the same rules of the road as cars when it comes to stop signs.Re: “Walmart health coming to Texas — 10 clinics planned for D-FW stores in patient care expansion,” Friday Metro & Business story.
Now too many doctors have jobs and the needs of their employer often take precedent over a patient’s needs. You cannot serve two masters — choose patients or profits. Why should the schools be responsible for this problem? When did parents get absolved of this part of parenting? Sit your kid down and have a logical, unemotional discussion of drugs, all drugs, when they are very young. Let them know that getting high is only fun for the length of the high and can sometimes make depression worse.
Gov. Greg Abbott says this is about giving parents freedom to choose. He doesn’t mention that private schools are under no obligation to accept any student. As far as I know, there are several excellent private schools in the Dallas area but not nearly enough to accommodate all public school students.
