Readers find it hard to control outrage; worry about state government control; and wish Texas would focus on fixing its foster care system.Re: “Reject the outrage-industrial complex — Recognizing how Americans are being manipulated is the first step to surviving another exhausting election year,” by Ryan Sanders, March 24 Opinion.I found Sanders’ editorial on lowering the heat thoughtful and temporarily helpful.
When the author claims both parties are guilty of only being against “the other,” he fails to acknowledge that only one party is known for its long and proud Yellow Dog Democrat tradition — its members would vote for a yellow dog before they would vote for any Republican.Re: “Beware Texas Cities: Big State is Coming — State lawmakers are once again likely to seek more control over cities,” Tuesday editorial.
The woeful state of child foster care and education funding are just two items that come to mind that could use your full attention.Growing up, my family was able to provide safe homes to eight children in the foster care system throughout the years. However, this impact barely scratches the surface in changing the dynamics of our broken foster care system today.
Can the residents of this state feel any more secure knowing that their attorney general, the senior official charged with upholding the law, is so deficient in legal ethics that he is required to take a refresher course? Can they feel their voting rights are safer knowing he fraudulently misrepresented 2020 election results in other states?
