Until someone invades a school and kills 19 children and two adults with a banned book, it’s clear to me that our state leaders and legislators have their priorities confused.Re: “Trump indicted on 7 counts — Retention of top secrets, obstruction, conspiracy alleged,” Friday news story.

As a graduate of the Harvard Law School and as a former state district judge in Dallas, and based on extensive legal research, I can share with readers this opinion: the use of the “baloney” defense is extremely rare, and typically a sign of desperation. To roll out the baloney defense as the process is just getting started suggests we are in for a summer of fun and entertainment! Please keep a sense of humor at all times and we will make it through this.

According to the state comptroller report from December 2022, property taxes made up 50.57% of all Texas revenue in 2021, about $70 billion. The highest state expenditures are for health care, education, public safety and roads. How can we realistically reduce spending without causing hardships?
