Charlottetown Mayor Philip Brown met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as a followup to the mayor’s meetings in 2020. Photo special to The Guardian from Alex Tetreault/PMO’s officeIn a spirit of fairness to all people seeking office in the municipal election, I wish to thank the people who lead the way in providing quality and affordable housing for the people of Prince Edward Island.

I don't like singling out people but my experience with Philip Brown has been very positive. Philip has always been reminded of the importance of a quality and affordable home in his role as an educator at Prince Street school in Charlottetown. Many times over the years he would call our office to see if we had available subsidies to enhance the quality of life of the families of his students.

Later when he was elected Mayor of Charlottetown, he never forgot the nurturing value of a quality and affordable home to nurture his students and give them a chance to reach their full potential in life.we needed a tax break to make the project affordable. Thanks to Philip Brown a tax rebate was provided and today we can rent to families at affordable rental rates.Kings Square Affordable Housing CorporationSaltWire Network welcomes letters on matters of public interest for publication.
