Vote wisely or be ‘whipped’ Four years ago, we Islanders were preparing for an election. A dear friend, and my landlord at the time, Josh Underhay came ...
. So with at least 27,000 on the list PC Leader Dennis King is going to reduce that number to 0 in four years, if elected. That’s one of the biggest exaggerations anyone has ever made on an election campaign. It was Dr. Heather Morrison who got us through COVID-19, not Dennis King.Regarding P.E.I.'s upcoming election
I hope you good folks can see your way clear to giving them an opportunity to show how P.E.I. can lead.Seldom does one province have the opportunity to affect the entire country and strike a significant blow for sanity. I suspect such a result would garner notice worldwide. The election campaign is now well underway in P.E.I. and I have been impressed by the efforts of the Island New Democrats under the leadership of Michelle Neill.
Under Dr. Herb’s leadership we delivered the ombudsperson bill, developed recall legislation that reduced political patronage in seasonal hiring, worked with and supported Island shellfishers, successfully fought the location of an unnecessary landfill site in a Tracadie Cross wetland, encouraged the government of the day into delivering public kindergarten, and put a stop to tolls on the Hillsborough Bridge.
Lying in bed last night a wonderful dream popped into my head. I thought back to the last election when Dennis King became premier. Think how more colourful the bus would be decorated in blue, green, red and orange. How much more productive; they could cover a street in half the time with everyone knocking on doors. At a tall apartment building, they each take a floor.
