Vancouver Sun March 21 letters to the editor
I’m concerned that the amount of media coverage of events such as the New Zealand shootings is motivating perpetrators to commit these horrific crimes.
The shootings in the New Zealand mosques is a current example of the lack of communication between cultures and a need for openness to explore ideas and answer questions. As Islam spreads into the Western world of free speech and open criticism, many are frustrated at the forced silence on questions about Islam by calling it “Islamophobia.”
While most of us are aware of the damage that tobacco causes to our bodies, very little of the damage tobacco causes the environment is publicized. I urge all dedicated young activists to search online for “tobacco and climate change.” You’ll be amazed and — hopefully — motivated.Why do potheads prevail?After years of stench and destruction, you’d think that Vancouver city councillors would smarten up and refuse access for the 4/20 participants and their illegal takeover of the neighbourhood.
Why don’t they go up to Pemberton or out near Hope where they won’t bother anyone? I always feel sad about him for the treatment he got from animal-right activists. They pursued him like a pack of wolves.
