Calgary Sun Letters to the Editor for June 20, 2023
Coincidences don’t exist
I was watching the Sunday evening news. One segment reported how gas stoves can be detrimental to asthmatics. It could very well be the case, but didn’t President Biden say to fight climate change that gas stoves ought to be banned from use. It’s a little too coincidental that a scientific report gets published about the link between gas stoves and asthmatics when climate change killjoys want to ban gas stoves. Strange days, indeed.
As I travel the world I see beautiful highways properly engineered by countries which are less prosperous than Canada. The Trans Canada Highway should be 100% funded by the federal government. How silly is it, for example, to demand that a province like B.C. provide funding for this highway over a very challenging topography such as theirs. A highway similar to Interstate 15 in the U.S. should be planned and built over the next 5 years.
