Evan Vucci, STF / Associated PressI support a balanced budget and spending cuts that make sense, i.e., cuts that do not hurt average citizens, the poor or national defense. Also, I am in favor of all citizens and corporations paying their fair share of taxes.
The GOP wants to cut increased funding for the IRS. This funding is intended to provide the IRS with enough staff to collect significantly more income than the additional funding for the IRS would cost. Under the current situation, reportedly, the IRS is unable to ensure all pay their fair share. What about addressing the most pressing of Texans’ priorities: poor health care coverage, a decimated foster care system, struggling public education and our slow infrastructure? The governor’s priorities are not what most Texans really need.America, the so-called “shining city on a hill,” is now also a “big lie.”“Say it ain’t so, Joe.” This statement was allegedly made by a child to Shoeless Joe Jackson about the 1919 Chicago Black Sox scandal.
