I recently sent an email to Mayor Jyoti Gondek’s office objecting to another raise that the councillors and mayor are getting. I received back an email from the mayor’s operations advisor stating that the mayor and councillors don’t give themselves raises and that the raises are automatic and based on the cost of inflation and are handled by an independent body. I guess that response was supposed to make me feel better or justify the raises. Must be nice to get inflationary raises.
