East Bay Times Letters to the Editor for Sept. 20, 2022
. The cyclist jumped off of his bike before the driver hit it and was not hurt himself.
East Bay Bike Party is a monthly event that celebrates cycling, which I think is a great idea. But we have rules of the road, for a good reason, where you drive on your side of the street and I drive on mine. East Bay Bike Party participants swarm the whole roadway, many of whom deliberately approach car drivers in a threatening manner. This is a passive-aggressive form of bullying. If the cyclists had stayed on their side of the road, this would have never happened.Vote for leaders whohave climate solutionsI appreciate Dan Walters’ cautionary words about the challenges we face in reaching California’s climate goals. We need to know where all the bottlenecks are so that they can be addressed.
However, the state government is not an immutable entity, but rather, it is made up of people whom we elect.
Meeting our climate goals is a complex and difficult task. Let’s vote for political leaders who understand the issues and can articulate concrete, implementable and measurable solutions.President Biden’s plan to forgive student loans is an insult to every person who worked and saved to pay for their education, earned scholarships or did government service to earn educational benefits.
