I recently called the Department of Health line to be put on the waiting list for a doctor. When I called, I heard the ubiquitous recorded voice saying something to the effect of “we are experiencing heavier than usual phone traffic,” but what caught my attention was the comment to the effect “we are eight days behind in responding to messages but you can go online …” etc. I'm soon to be 89 and will registerI have a snowball's chance of getting a doctor before I die.

I now wonder that since the health system is beyond redemption and politicians are incapable of solving the health problems, have they seriously solicited suggestions from the front-line physicians on avenues that can ameliorate the chaos we endure? If they did receive unsolicited suggestions does the leadership just dismiss the suggestions out of hand because of the attitude with senior public servants and the minister that they know...

When will the government recognize they are not dealing with miscreant children? Do they even respond to incoming suggestions from the front lines? Something is badly amiss.
