City landmarks are disappearing I was just reading that the large cow statue has been removed from the Charlottetown airport. It always made for fun ...

cow statue has been removed

I couldn’t help but realize that there has been a steady drip, drip, drip of Charlottetown losing little, quaint landmarks that together lent a special charm to the city. It seems to me it started when they turned off the fun, old-fashioned fountain that used to erupt out of the drain set into the brick-lined street of Victoria Row . With its gentle pitter-patter of water falling on the bricks, it seemed to remind everyone to slow down and enjoy the area.

It seems to me the city is becoming plainer every time something else disappears. Each removal on their own might not have seemed of much consequence, but all together the losses are mounting up.
