Calgary Sun Letters to the Editor, August 19, 2023: \u0027We have only ourselves to blame\u0027
This message is directed to my fellow Canadians. Our country is in dire straits, and we are to blame! Blaming Trudeau, Ford and all the other premiers for our predicament is embarrassing as we voted them in! We can fix this regardless of if you are Conservative, Liberal, NDP or whatever else. It’s simple — we are the money tree and need to work as a team.
Yet our politicians don’t have to take a course, take a test or any other qualifying requirements other than to convince you to vote for them. That is how we end up with actors, lawyers that couldn’t make it in their chosen field, and others that because of their name or hair get elected. Imagine if they had to take courses on how to govern, how to balance a budget, know about laws, and listen to the people that voted them in, pass a test.
