Out here past the overpass, the province is scratching up good pavement to put down better. I know what they’re up to. On the road up the north side of the Bonavista Peninsula, there are places where one lane of pavement is gone altogether. The road to Little Heart’s Ease would be a challenge for the Mars Rover. I'm sure these aren’t the worst ones off the Avalon either.
Heavy trucks don’t push the pavement down to make the ruts. It is studded tires that gouge them out. That is why they have been banned in other parts of Canada.
