Having fireworks explode against the side of his home and vehicle is a bit much, writes Don Simms of Mount Pearl.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THESE SALTWIRE VIDEOS

Hope everyone had a happy New Year's Eve, celebrating, welcoming in the new year and enjoying the fireworks. Every year, we go down to lakeside and view the spectacular fireworks provided by the City of St. John's. The event is carried out in a safe environment, by experienced personnel, with the fireworks exploding over Quidi Vidi Lake.

We really enjoy watching fireworks, but when some irresponsible person in my neighbourhood, who probably hasn't used them before, deployed them not up in the air, but straight down my street horizontally, exploding against the side of my home and vehicle, it's a bit much! The impact on my house was such that it rattled the dishes, shook the house, damaged the siding and terrorized my family.
