Three great opinions were printed in the Feb. 20 Daily Herald -- Government control ; government aid ; and the mishandling of Social Security . When did we become such a dependent society?
Social Security by far is one of the biggest scams the government has played on us. People like my wife and I, who sacrificed and worked, sometimes two jobs, a number of years to achieve our goals for retirement, are being punished for taking personal responsibility. Our children also get punished if we were to pass away at an early age. All that money we earned into the benefits can't be passed on to them.
