I have always maintained that once you create a bureaucracy — including all government entities — we lose the ability to know what happens internally, especially as it relates to financial matters affecting executives, personnel, income levels, any benefits provided, etcetera. I realize that the university’s newly appointed president, Dr. Neil Bose, has indicated that changes have been initiated to address some of the issues raised by the auditor general — in particular, oversight issues.
