Are we teaching children to lie and keep secrets from their parents? What kind of precedent is this setting? Society seems to go from one extreme to another. Teachers once had all the power in the classrooms. Then it went to the other extreme where parents had all the power. Kids can’t fail a grade. Kids can’t be disciplined. Now it seems the children have the power.
Some children are followers. To seek attention they will follow along not realizing what they are doing. That’s why there are laws in place that children can’t drink alcohol, smoke or drive, etc., because their brains are not yet fully developed. They can’t make fully informed decisions because they are too young. Why are we not using this same logic when it comes to gender and pronouns? That makes common sense to me.
