Letter: 'Would common sense not dictate there should be a greater concern for a child’s safety and life than for some ideological perception of a danger from a book that might discuss an idea or concept contradictory to what you think?'

Curiously, these same people seem somehow oblivious to other childhood protections, such as preventing slaughter in schools, which most would argue ought to be places of safety and benign learning. Not places of terror requiring active shooter drills.

Putting this thought as a question: What do you think is most important: the death of a child or a child’s possible exposure to a book discussing a variety of concepts and ideas some of which may conflict with your own ideas and thinking?
