'Why this individual ... can be allowed to inflict such physical, emotional, and mental health damage on our fellow citizens is truly unbelievable,' Mary O'Keefe writes about the Outer Battery issue.
Thus, the bright lights in the Battery are not merely an annoyance or inconvenience to its residents. Such a continual bombardment of light can cause serious physical and mental health problems.
At a time when mental health has rightly come to the forefront of our collective consciousness, it is inconceivable that the City of St. John’s claims to be powerless to turn off the lights! With the exception of Deputy Mayor Sheilagh O’Leary, the mayor and city councillors seem unwilling to risk the wrath of an aggressive, callous bully. Why this individual, Colin Way, can be allowed to inflict such physical, emotional, and mental health damage on our fellow citizens is truly unbelievable.
