It's set to be the most anticipated event in many years
There are less than 1,00 spaces left for this year's Robin Hood Half Marathon, which is set to take place in under 10 weeks. The countdown for the annual event is officially on, with just a few more weeks until the race returns on September 29, 2024.
Entries have surpassed the 9,000 mark and with a maximum of 10,000 runners, this is set to be the most anticipated event in many years. Organisers say participation levels have soared to an unprecedented level for this year, which means entries are expected to close in August. Judith Manson, race director, said: "The response to this year's event has been nothing short of phenomenal. The Robin Hood Half Marathon is more than just a race; it's a celebration of community, resilience, and the shared spirit of this wonderful city.
"We are thrilled to see so many runners eager to be part of this journey and encourage those still considering registering to do so quickly to avoid disappointment." It comes after the race organisers, Robin Hood Marathon Events, confirmed that the 2024 route would stay the same as in 2023, starting at the Victoria Embankment.
The half marathon event helps bring the city together through community spirit, and it is hoped that this year's race day will have an electrifying atmosphere.
