Apollo Global Management co-founder Leon Black on Monday filed a new lawsuit against a New York-based law firm that has represented three women who claimed Black raped them.
"Mr. Black intends to hold Wigdor fully accountable for its unlawful behavior," Susan Estrich, one of Black's lawyers, said in a statement.
Jeanne Christensen, a partner at Wigdor who has represented the women who have sued Black, said the billionaire's claims are "frivolous" and are aimed at intimidating other women and their lawyers.the Wigdor firm as her counsel earlier this year, was also named as a defendant in the new lawsuit. Kevin Mintzer, a lawyer who is representing Ganieva in another lawsuit filed by Black, declined to comment.
Black has filed at least two other lawsuits against Wigdor and Ganieva, who has claimed he defamed her by falsely claiming she tried to extort him after accusing him of rape. A New York state judgeone of Black's lawsuits, which accused Ganieva and Wigdor of a "criminal enterprise." The 2nd Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals upheld the ruling in March.
Black also has another New York state court lawsuit pending against Ganieva and Wigdor, accusing Ganieva of breaking a confidentiality agreement.in federal court in a July lawsuit brought by Wigdor on behalf of an unnamed woman who claims he raped her inside Jeffrey Epstein's Manhattan mansion in 2002 when she was 16. Black and his legal team blasted the woman's claims as false and disputed Wigdor's assertion that she is autistic.
