Julián Castro continues to put out ambitious and desperately needed proposals to decriminalize the immigration system. This time, he’s talking about repealing the law that makes it a felony to reenter the United States after you’ve been deported. “I don’t believe in criminalizing desperation,” he said. [This headline suggests that the president somehow has standards about the people he associates with? Or himself meets some kind of standard? Very strange.
