Fort Bend County Judge KP George and other officials are giving an update on the county's recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl.
Days after Hurricane Beryl, more than 1M are still without power and KHOU 11 is asking when it will be restored and recovery can begin.hit the Houston area as a Category 1 hurricane. At least seven people in Harris and Montgomery counties lost their lives. Other storm victims had extensive damage to their homes and millions of customers lost power. The power companies and city leaders say this will be a multi-day outage for most customers because the damage is extensive and widespread.
Crews are assessing the damage and will start repairs as soon as possible. However, thousands of out-of-town crews weren't staged in Houston in advance of Hurricane Beryl as in past hurricanes.TxDOT tells KHOU 11 that 600 of its state-maintained traffic signal intersections are still not working. Programming is canceled through Monday, July 15. All fitness classes and Park After Dark are canceled.
