Ty Emberson was claimed by the San Jose Sharks on Friday’s waiver wire, while the remaining nine players cleared.

The San Jose Sharks claimed defenseman Ty Emberson off of waivers after he was placed on the wire on Friday by the New York Rangers. The remaining nine players on waivers from Friday all cleared.

Thomson, 23, was the 19th overall pick for the Senators in 2019, and failed to make the team during his first season of waiver eligibility. The Sens announced on Friday that Thomson, along with Currie, Heatherington and Pilon, would be placed on waivers on Saturday. Thomson has played just 18 NHL games in the past two seasons, with five assists all coming in the 16 games he played in 2021-22.

Tokarski, 34, is a veteran depth goalie in the NHL who the Sabres signed in free agency. Tokarski played just four NHL games last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he had a 1-2 record and an .897 save percentage, but he did find himself in a consistent role with the Sabres in 2021-22, where he got into 29 games with a 10-12-5 record and an .899 save%.

Many are concerned with the direct impact this will have on the economy and the American public at large. National Urban League President and CEO Marc Moria joins Yahoo Finance to break down the ramifications a shutdown will have on some of the most vulnerable communities in America and the larger impact it will have on the rest of the country. 'Think about the many, many, many Americans, even in your local community, who work for the federal government. Think about the many many people who work for companies that do business with the federal government, so that would be a direct impact that touches all 50 states,' Morial, the former mayor of New Orleans, pleads. 'To join with those who are advocating, those who are pressuring, those who are loudly saying to members of Congress 'Be responsible, do the right thing.''
