Finland will rely on Vancouver Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen to secure a crucial win against their rivals, Sweden, in the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament. This decision follows a disappointing first game loss to Team USA, where Juuse Saros struggled. Lankinen, who has outperformed Saros this season, will be looking to replicate his dominant performance at the 2019 World Championship.
With their tournament on the line as they prepare to face their biggest rival, Finland will turn to Vancouver Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen on Saturday.
Lankinen, who was Saros's backup the past two seasons with the Nashville Predators, has a .905 save percentage across 34 games with the Vancouver Canucks this season, which is better than the league average of .902. It's also better than Saros's .899 save percentage for the struggling Predators. Lankinen will be facing his Canucks teammate, Elias Pettersson, who will be looking to improve on his performance from Sweden's first game against Canada, where they managed to push the game to overtime but succumbed to a clutch goal by Mitch Marner.
