A new report highlights significant differences in development cost charges (DCCs) across Metro Vancouver, with the Township of Langley having the highest rates for all property types.

A new report from the Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN) reveals significant disparities in development cost charges (DCCs) across Metro Vancouver . While DCC rates vary by jurisdiction, HAVAN's analysis found that the Township of Langley levies the highest DCCs among major municipalities for all property types - single-family homes, townhouses, and apartments. For single-family homes, Langley 's average DCC was around $87,000 per unit, significantly higher than Coquitlam's $62,000.

Langley also topped the list for townhouse DCCs at approximately $59,000 per unit. These findings come amidst growing public scrutiny of DCCs and developer campaigns against their increasing costs
