Baseball: Lamar dominates All-District 18-6A superlatives

He is shown here signing his National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Southwestern University during a National Signing Day ceremony at the school’s gym on the morning of Feb. 2.The Lamar Texans baseball team was co-District 18-6A champion for the 2022 season, going and 24-7 overall and 13-1 in district play with its only loss coming in the district finale to co-district champion Bellaire.
When the All-District honors, as voted on by all the district’s baseball coaches came out, Lamar dominated the superlatives with Texans earning MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Pitcher of the Year.Senior Josh Endo was named district MVP.Senior Matt Whitting was named district Defensive Player of the Year.
