Lake Creek picked up a key win over the Bulldogs.
Magnolia came in off a devastating one-point loss to Bryan Rudder on Tuesday and were looking to come in off that positively.Magnolia came out firing with a 50 percent effort on 3-pointers in the first quarter.
Lake Creek narrowed the gap by the end of the quarter as Braedon Bigott hit a couple buckets and Jett Sutton hit a 3-pointer to tie it at 16-all.Magnolia dictated the pace with its passing in the half-court offense, but was only 1-for-8 from the floor with Chase Taylor making a 3-pointer at the 6:40 mark for the only points.
Lake Creek struggled, too, until a seven-point spurt led by a pair of buckets by Bigott gave it a 20-16 lead at halftime. Bigott led with 10 points in the first half.“They do want to reverse the ball and so we talked about not letting them reverse the ball and putting a little pressure on them,” Lanham said. “That was kind of our halftime adjustment. We can pressure and I think they can and will turn the ball over if we pressure them.
