The 2023 Rose Parade’s musical performances get mixed reactions from social media.
Dorothy Elder is a graduate of Fort Lewis College with a degree in journalism and political science. Prior to joining Southern California News Group, she was a reporter for the Pagosa Springs Sun, where she wrote about town politics, water, and development.
In college, Elder led the Fort Lewis College Independent as editor-in-chief and worked as the social media coordinator for a non-partisan civic engagement group focussed on increasing voting behavior in college students. Elder is deeply interested in media theory and has previously researched the efficacy, need for and limitations of investigative reporting at local newsrooms in the Four Corners region, as well as conducted an ethical analysis of social media-based citizen journalists.
