Carlos Santander-Maturana, president of the Thunder Bay and District Labour Council, says this year's theme was all about recovery. "What we are trying to do is to ensure that the members of the labour community and those ones who are not organized are getting the understanding and the tools that we need to have in order to face off just recovery.
Santander-Maturana is happy the long-standing tradition of the picnic brings out many members of the community "To remember our accomplishments during the year and also the challenges that we had to face and put all the labour community together."
