Broncos defensive lineman DeShawn Williams vows, “My son is not playing football” after watching the frightening sight of Damar Hamlin’s near-death experience on the field. by markkiszla

With a photograph of his 10-month-old son securely fastened to a pedant resting near the heart of Broncos defensive lineman DeShawn Williams, a loving father solemnly swore he would not subject any child of his to the dangers of football.

Williams paid particular attention to Hamlin, who had become his friend when they regularly began participating two years ago in offseason conditioning workouts with University of Pittsburgh alum Aaron Donald and a group of NFL players.

The collision that has left Hamlin in an Ohio hospital in critical condition, intubated but thankfully showing signs of recovery, was a freak accident.
