An NBC News poll, published just a few days ago, revealed the number one issue for American registered voters was democracy itself. The Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol — along with Donald’s Trump’s manipulations of the rules to win the 2020 presidential election, and GOP election-deniers running in races across the U.S. — shook up Americans, and put protecting democracy on the ballot, too.
