Prelude to the Best Sommelier of Canada Contest | SaltWireMitchell Jacob Owen, 30, of New Glasgow, has been handed a conditional sentence with house arrest after pleading guilty to committing criminal harassment by repeatedly communicating with an individual.
Judge Ronda Van Der Hoek handed Owen a 90-day conditional sentence order, including house arrest for the first 45 days, to be followed by daily curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for the remaining time. Owen was also sentenced to 12 months of probation. Osborne changed his pleas to guilty on Oct. 16. He was given credit at time-and-a-half for 17 days spent remanded in custody, or 26 days. Judge Angela Caseley sentenced Osborne to 13 days in custody on each of the charges, deemed served.
